If your SIM is missing, damaged, or not working, you can quickly replace it using MTN’s Self-Service SIM Swap, fast, easy, and no queues.
Just follow the steps below to complete the process yourself.
✅ Before You Begin
Please get a blank (unregistered) MTN SIM card from any MTN Service Centre, Connect Store, or Authorized Shop.
Once you have it, share the new SIM serial number with MTN when prompted during the process.
📲 How to Complete a Self-Service SIM Swap
- Dial *1333# on your phone
- Select SIM Swap
- Choose Option 1 to swap for your own number
- You’ll receive an SMS containing a secure link
- Tap the link to open the SIM Swap Portal
- Enter the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your number
- Enter your new SIM serial number
- Select the reason for your SIM swap
- Complete face verification using your phone’s camera
- Your details will be verified instantly with the National Identification Authority (NIA)
- Once successful, you will receive an SMS confirmation, and your new SIM will be activated
